I am a bicycle addict. I adore bicycles. All kinds, all shapes, all sizes. I only own two to my name at this moment, but I plan to get at least two more over my lifetime.
I desperately would love a bike like THIS…

And another one like this…

Aren’t they just fabulous? The one on top is a Trek bike. They typically range in the thousands of dollars, however I think there are few ‘normal’ models that are in the hundreds. I’ll get that one when I win the lottery. Or maybe when Lance Armstrong decides to give one to me, just because I’m me.
The second bike, the red one, is my favorite to date. You can actually go here and sort of customize it with different baskets, colors, etc. It is only around $750 or so. Only. Heh.
I bought my very first, very OWN bicycle when I was 20. Up until that point, all the siblings shared. It was an exciting moment when I put down that eight dollars at the flea market, and rode it all the way back to our car. I took it home, bought some paint and some rust remover and it actually turned out to be quite a cute bike. Until the bearings gave out when I was pregnant with my first baby. Since then it has hung in our garage looking all blue and cute and useless. But, I will never, never sell it. I will probably sand it, repaint it and actually get the wheels and bearings restored, but it will always be mine. Until I pass it on to my daughter, that is.
So, get on your bike this spring and do some toodling about town. Sites look different from the saddle of a bicycle. Better yet, add an old basket or crate to it and go grocery shopping or garage sale-ing. I’m telling you, it’s fun.
The weather is getting so nice, I won’t be posting but, maybe twice or three times a week. But if I do take the plunge to redo my old, blue bike, I’ll do a special post just about that.
So what are you waiting for? Go!

My husband rides bikes and is always trying to get me on one. I used to love them. Now to be honest, I am a wee bit afraid of calamity involving me crashing to the pavement just in time for a Mac Truck to roll by.
I guess I need to find a good bike path.
